About Iris Apfel
Iris Apfel (1921–2024) was an American interior designer, fashion legend, and cultural icon known for her maximalist style and unforgettable personality. With her signature oversized glasses and layers upon layers of color, pattern, and vintage jewelry, she defied every convention about age and beauty. Over her career she decorated the White House for nine presidents, and at 97 she became the world's oldest model with a contract at IMG Models. Iris believed in dressing for joy, never taking yourself too seriously, and that style is about being yourself – not following trends. She inspired millions to embrace the unexpected and live with courage, humor, and color.
